As an executive or business owner your job is to get all the company staff doing what they are supposed to. Everything depends on that, including everyones salary and the success of the company. At a simplistic level there are only 2 steps you need to worry about.
However there is a "Standard" set of roles that a company must have to make Salesforce.com the success it should be, you'll need to have these roles. They don't have to be full time to start with, so you can have existing staff hold the post until the time required demands someone full time. But for now make sure the role is held by someone.
